We're looking for an Additive Manufacturing Application Engineer

Summary of Position 

We are building a world-class Applications team to solve high-value, industry-wide problems that fully leverages a unique manufacturing platform. As an Applications Engineer, you will be the catalyst that unlocks the power of Digital Metal Manufacturing for our customers. In this role, you will be providing technical support and leadership for the development and delivery of solutions to our customers hardest problems. Furthermore, you will also serve as trusted advisors to prospects and customers by leveraging your technical expertise and business acumen to propose relevant solutions. Working at the interface between our Sales team and our Engineering team, you will solve a variety of complex customer problems while thriving in a sales environment.
 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Gain and maintain expert technical knowledge and proficiency with GE Additive Arcam EBM platform,  applications, and the additive manufacturing industry in general
  • Ensure on-time delivery of customer applications and manage customer satisfaction
  • Assist customers with generating plans and procedures to create, develop, and vet applications and use cases
  • Partner cross-functionally within the organization and with clients to understand their objectives &      opportunities for alignment
  • Manage Application life-cycle from initial analysis through re-design through productization
  • Educate customers on Digital Metal Manufacturing and provide them with design guidelines for success
  • Generate documentation (reports, benchmarking studies, technical marketing briefs) and present at      speaking opportunities such as seminars and conferences


Candidate Prerequisites 

  • BS or MS in an Engineering or other technical discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science,      etc.)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; strong listener who also exhibits empathy
  • 5-8 years' experience in an engineering or technical field
  • CAD experience, SolidWorks preferred, other CAD software considered
  • Demonstrated expertise in some      of the following areas: Materials, 3DP, mechanical part design, new      product development, manufacturing, supply chain, process characterization, quality.
  • Professional services, strategic consulting and/or solution selling experience is highly valued, as well as a depth of knowledge of industry verticals (e.g. automotive, aerospace, healthcare).
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • General knowledge of additive manufacturing across various platforms and the associated material      manufacturing processes and part fabrication technologies.
  • Experience operating or working with GE Additive/Arcam EBM Technology preferred
  • Demonstrated project management and presentation skills
